The Florida Panthers have placed defenceman Ryan Whitney on waivers. Zapatillas Jordan Retro Baratas . The 30-year-old defenceman has appeared in six games with the Panthers so far this season, registering no points and a minus-7 rating. Florida signed Whitney to a one-year $900,000 contract this off-season. In 480 career NHL games Whitney has scored 50 goals and 209 assists. Whitney was originally selected fifth overall in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft. The Panthers are Whitneys fourth NHL club, having previously suited up for the Penguins, Anaheim Ducks, and Edmonton Oilers. Comprar Jordan Baratas Online . -- Officials have approved a deal to build a new $672 million stadium for the Atlanta Braves away from the downtown Atlanta area that has traditionally been its home. Air Jordan Baratas Online . - The width of Alec Martinezs shin guard was the difference between the Los Angeles Kings and the Anaheim Ducks in their playoff series opener. The recent induction of Dominik Hasek into the Hockey Hall of Fame brought back a flood of great memories on how goalies used to play - especially when they scramble in the net. When I was growing up, every goaltender played the same way. We were told to stay on our feet, be patient, use our reflexes and allow pucks to come to us. Goalies were acrobatic, overactive and generally got in and out of position very quickly. And twenty years ago, the two-pad stack was the go to move. But over the past decade, its gone extinct - mainly because the butterfly style has become the norm. But this season, whats old appears new again. It seems were seeing more two-pad stack saves than usual. Almost half the starting goalies in the National Hockey League have been spotted using the old school move. Yes, its a desperation move. And with ice coverage at such a premium these days, goalies are reverting back to old school styles. But its a useful move when you need to throw everything you have at a puck. The only trouble is its also a final move. Jordan Retro Baratas. The hardest part of making a two-pad stack save is the recovery, because making it sprawled on your side in the crease and are slower to get up for that next adjustment. You can be dead in the water. Now the butterfly save is the right move because it gives you an opportunity for facing the second shot with a quicker recovery. In fact, its the progression from the stack. Starting goalies who have gone old school with two-pad stacks this season include Pittsburghs Marc-Andre Fleury, Jonathan Quick of the Kings, Ottawas Craig Anderson, San Joses Antti Niemi, Braden Holtby of the Washington Capitals, Edmontons Ben Scrivens, Vancouvers Ryan Miller, Cam Ward of Carolina, Winnipegs Ondrej Pavelec and Kari Lehtonen of the Stars. And the list goes on. But lets not get ahead of ourselves, this move will not be brought back in consistently. The one and only thing thats consistent is that guys have tried it as a last resort to make the save. And in true fashion, theyve been spectacular. ' ' '
